You've taken someone who is a bit of a side character, and brought him fully to life. Not only that, but in a very gentle way - this story feels like a dance, a waltz; it flows, it sways, it isn't forced. It's quite natural. Even the use of the Czech works, rather than seeming obtrusive or stuck-in. It's gentle, despite the subject matter. It's circular (1-2-3 waltz time...) with the fairy tale at the start, the middle, and the end. Very well done.
